The verbage on the Northern Virginia real estate docs says the contract can't be assigned, unless agreed to in writing by both parties", or words to that effect. You can try adding and/or assigns after your name and also put in the "Other" section of the contract something that says the seller will allow the purchaser to assign the contract. They (the bank/lender), probably won't agree to it, but you can try.
