You're so right. When I went to my first local REI meeting in April last year, I was pumped. I had new business cards and I had done a lot of reading. I knew I wanted to be a wholesaler and I wanted cards from rehabbers and buy and hold investors. When I was networking and introducing myself, I had to write contact info of some of the contacts on the backs of my own cards, because they didn't have any.
I heard a phrase a long time ago that goes something like this: "Success is what happens when opportunity meets preparedness and opportunities are there all the time."
If you're not prepared for life (not just real estate investing), you won't see opportunities that are right in front of you.
