You're already behind.....so that should show them you don't have the ability to pay. Perhaps you're dealing
with Citi....they are not the smartest bunch of people.Maybe you should say that you really like 'your' furnace and plumbing and brand new kitchen and bath too
and you couldn't possibly part with them when you leave......
That might get them thinking on the right track - not that you would do this, only 'suggesting'.
Banks are not often very smart and need help getting to the root of the matter.
All they see is bottom line. All you see is trying to survive.Somewhere in between sits a decent middle....maybe. At the end of the day, you're still losing your house. And, you're not buying via SS, someone else would.
You should find some other place to live.James
