converting a propane heating system to electric

I own a house that has a propane heating system. Most people are deterred by such a system due to the high monthly costs. Is it pretty easy to get this system converted to an electric system? like switching the propane furnace to an electric furnace? What about the heating ducts. Is there any change that needs to be made to them?
