It's my understanding that USAirways just wants to see activity on you account at least once every 18 months. Just go ahead and order a magazine (they have Money Magazine) or place your next OfficeMax order through them on line, and you should be good to go.
By the way, I recently sold 30,000 USAirways miles on EBay for $335. I couldn't believe people pay for miles, but they'll fight for them! You might want to try converting those miles to cash.
