Our rentals are in San Antonio and while I like the city a lot (except humidity, which is a deal killer for a personal residence for me). But have been in the city a couple of times for several days at a shot I saw one or two Asians. Didn't see many African Americans either.

Dallas I did not like from the heat/humidity perspective and the appearance of the city itself.

Houston has the hurricanes, which I find much harder to take than earthquakes. And, again, a life draining level of humidity.

There are a lot of factors in choosing a place to live and they are different than the factors that are used in choosing a place to invest.

I got started on this tack because I was trying to make the point that some markets, such as the SF Bay Area, SFR prices are driven by the owner occupant criteria and investor criteria have almost no influence on prices because rentals purchased at current prices would lose boatloads of money each month.
