here's a classic example of NJ customer service. Most tax collector's offices close at 4pm. I was on the phone once with a collector trying to resolve a problem when the clock struck 4pm. At that moment she hung up on me. Thinking we got cut off I called back and got the recording "our office is now closed". LOL-it then hit me she ceased working at 4pm on the dot, even if she happened to be in mid conversation! Unreal.
