I think that you have a totally skewed view of this business. I refer business all the time to my agent. I do not expect a dime on any of these. If I can not help the individual (usually like you said, they want retail), I say thank you very much. I give them my agents contact info. I would imagine over the last five years, I have referred over a hundred people to my agent. Of those, she has probably sold 30 houses. I have not gotten a dime from her. What I do get is whenever she comes across a deal that meets my criteria, I get. She handles the BPO's for four of our local banks. She gets 95% of the REO listings. Guess who gets first look at these? There is a bigger picture here.
