rental market

Anyone know, or have direct experience as to what's going on with the rental market in the high desert of So Cal., specifically, Adelanto and Hesperia, San Bernardino County.
My thinking is that with people unable to qualify for mortgages and the foreclosures, the displaced have to live somewhere, therefore filling the vacancies.
Someone please enlighten me.
