Just a heads up on enclosing the decks. If you have a larger deck this might keep the rain out and be fine but no doubt cost quite a bit more.
The problem I have run into is that at least one of the deck/steps will be only a 4ft by 4ft platform and steps. If you cover this you create a problem of bringing larger items into the home such as sofas, beds etc. because the posts supporting the roof limit the turning radius.
Just food for thought.
I still like the 6 panel, metal house door conversion. I have not had them leak but I guess it could happen. The added costs of building a covered porch and replacing roofing material over the years seems too expensive to me. My older homes have all had problems with the covered porches but that might have something to do with their location.
