Hello, I've got a couple of mice in one of my rentals and would like a recommedation as to the best way to get rid of them so my tenant will stop bothering me about it. Thanks, JJ |

Definitely use traps. No poison. Unless you like the smell of dead rat behind the wall. You also may have to figure out how they are getting in. If it is from underneath, just fill in all the gaps with steel wool and foam spray. Cheap and easy fix. |

Were there any mice there when the tenant arrived? If not then the tenant brought them in, it is their problem. Suggest to them that there is an extra deposit required for pets. That said traps work pretty good. |

Include this line in your future lease: "Tenants are to take care of routine and incedental maintainance. This shall be defined as any task usually done by the resident or can be accomplished by a person of a basic skill level, with a normal selection of household tools. Should tenant call for service, s/he will be charged $25 plus parts and materials. " All that being said tell them to buy a trap or you can rent them a cat for $10 a week plus food. Just kidding- sort of. |
