Post Robert Allen - Posted by Mo

Posted by Mo on June 18, 2003 at 23:47:55:

Im thinking of attending the 3 day Robert Allen seminar. It costs $3,000 - which is a lot of money. Im very interested in creative real estate financing, and have decent theoretical knowledge of the industry, but no practial experience. Has anyone taken the robert allen course? Is it a scam? Does it help? How does it compare to Carlton Sheerts? Any opinions?

thanks,
mo

WITH CARLTON SHEETS YOU HAVE BOOKS AND TAPES THAT YOU CAN REVIEW OVER AND OVER. THREE DAYS YOU WIL NOT.

Go for more tapes and books. I feel boot camps are for people who need MORE of a kick in the pants to get moving than the original kick in the pants of the price tag on the tape sets. I have been investing for several years doing a boring, but useful, equity line of credit on my house with a credit card for repairs and some elbow grease. Like anything else, this job requires work until you get you system up and running. Study some tape courses and get out there. Your first deal is the hardest. After that, its all down hill (mostly).

Take the 3K and use it to buy your first property. You can get all the info you need to do that on this site and others. If you do that you will be way ahead of the game, even if it isn't a great buy, the learning experience will exceed any books and tapes.

It's a scam. You will get nothing but a lot of hype and an emptiness where your money used to be.

I have taken the course and have gained valuable knowledge in the real estate market. The class was $3K but well worth it. I am not a homeowner but the class taught me ways to buy a house with little down or 0 down. Just remember that when they say "nothing down", you don't need to use your money, you use other investor?s money. Again the class in informative and it came with books, study guide, 16 tutorial CD's to include a power point presentation that covers the 3-day course.

take the $3k and use it to buy a house. Robert Allen, C Sheets, they are all scam artist who are great sales people/talkers. They peddle the same boring stuff over and over, many of the "methods" they use are just creative ways of getting a deed but don't forget that the average seller will not go for the b.s. that these guys push.

I just purchased the robert allen system for making money on the internet. I am not sure if I blew a wad of money yet or not. Anyone have any testimonials good or bad. Please be serious, do not say you made good unless you did and please don't call it a scam unless you were scamed

Stop thinking of doing and do it! This program really works and they help with financing. It is a nother challenge that Robert Allen is doing! I am doing this right now with a friend and have learned and benifitted from this already. The course is fast track.

These guys are really good at stressing you out and getting you all hyped up about it. They try to make you think that today -- right NOW is your LAST CHANCE to be successful and that they're the only ones that can teach you how. It's all lies. The info Robert Allen, and many other's are offering is top grade A value. But why spend a ton of $$ when YOU CAN READ and apply these subjects in a way that is best for you and much more information for FREE just by going to your local library and other free local public resources. There are billions of friendly search engines and websites that are glad to give you any information you want to know and answer your questions for FREE!! Don't waste your money on this crap. You can beat these marketing beasts at their own game! Kick their butt and learn from them by suscribing to their free newsletters. You will learn gobs of the best info for free. They offer you free stuff as a way to lure you in to spend tons of money on their products, bootcamps and other seminars. You can hone in on their free conference calls and ask questions to clarify your questions. They have all kinds of ways of giving you free info -- it's their way of luring you in to make the purchase. Don't take the bait! Just relax, take a deep breath, and think about it. You have PLENTY of time to educate yourself for free and take action at the right time. Have Fun!
Some of my favorite websites and search engines are
fool.com (The Motley Fool -- Investing)
clickbank.com
overture.com
about.com (free info on anything)
ask.com and google.com (search engines)
register.com (buy your business domain name)
amazon .com
book - guerilla marketing by Jay Conrad Levinson
(Take advantage of his free info -- it's great stuff)
gmarketing.com
Book (one of the greatest books that I found at the library was "Niche and Get Rich" by Jenifer Basye Sander and Peter Sander). I read this book and they were straight and to the point -- no hype -- not a get rich quick scheme. They tell you like it is and tell you how to watch out for the people who are trying to scam you. These authors have written a number of other great books about personal finance, real estate, home business, investing, ect. Find them for free or low cost at the library or internet sites like amazon.com or online auction sites. I found loads of books at my library written by highly successful internet auction powersellers. I am thinking of starting up a home based online business that will grow to the point where I need an office staff and/or warehouse employees. This way I can market to the world and bring in more people to create jobs in my little town of Ferron,UT. It is a beautiful little town in south-central Utah. Unpolluted, fresh air, friendly people, lots of recreational choices -- hiking, fishing, kids activities. It's so beautiful! Just a hop, skip, and a jump to Las Vegas, Denver, Salt Lake, Wendover, Yellow Stone National Park, Phoenix, Joes Valley Reservoir, Zion's National Park, Park City, Sundance, and many other facinating places! :)

I agree with you Lee, I worked as a Realtor and owned my own Realestate agency, but there are a lot of things I learned at the Robert Allen Seminar that I didn't know before.
The hosts were absolutely fantastic, showing a lot of knowledge and patience.
The zero down part didn't interest me as I don't need it, but it might probably help people who are just starting investing.
Like in everything, you might exercise judgement when you start in business. The program gives you all the basics and if you follow them, there is no reason for anyone to fail.
Lee, have you already bought your first property? I am still waiting for the "bargain" and gathering my crew to perform the rehabs, but I know that the right house will appear in front of me when I am ready!
Johana - Charleston, SC.
