My father and I both have handyman businesses of our own but are looking into real estate investment and have come up with a few questions...If anyone could answer these I would be greatly appreciative... 1. We want to combine our businesses so that any work we do can have a corporate liability not a personal one. It will also allow us to be a "family business" without a sole proprietorship and employee relationship. What type of corp is going to work best for us in the begginning? Or should we set up a LLC? 2. WHat impact will this have if we chose to purchase a rehab or two? and should we set up another corp for those houses to protect our handyman business at the time we intend to purchase? Am sooo new at this but want to make sure I don't put either my dads or my interests in harms way by joining forces...I plan to get an attorney to do all our paperwork unless I can get a definitive answer as to how to go about this... Thanks for your time in advance... Colley |
