When the beneficiary of a trust is another trust, is it necessary to name the Trustee, like so: John Doe, Trustee for the Foobar Trust, dated MM/DD/YYYY or can one omit the name: Trustee for the Foobar Trust, dated MM/DD/YYYY? Also, how important is the date? My question is what happens when a trust, especially an irrevocable one, names as beneficiary a trustee by name (who may have since died or disappeared), of a revocable trust (that may have since been revoked and replaced by a successor trust of different date). |
