The commercial real estate market is crashing as we speak. Best of luck, really. I think the best course of action is to significantly lower rents where possible; otherwise businesses cannot make a profit in this depression. Of course, you should pick and choose among potential tenants. CRE is overbuilt and over extended and will not recover for a LONG TIME. Best of luck to you. If you have equity, you can lower your rents or try to sell. Retail is DEAD and will remain sluggish for years to come, as consumers pay down debt, which is the main psychology from here on into the indefinite future.
