I currently have a note secured by a mortgage or trust deed
in my IRA, and want to transfer it to my Roth IRA. The
custodian told me that I need to get it appraised, and that
I cannot appraise it myself. They suggested calling a CPA,
or a lawyer, etc. I forgot to ask them if any person other
than me (i.e. without specific credential) can appraise the
note.Have you encountered a similar situation before ? Who do you
recommend for appraising notes ? I found somebody on the
internet, but the price is about $400. I am looking for
somebody much cheaper (as cheap as I can get, while still
acceptable to Equity Trust Company (my custodian). Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
